ABOUT VELOX-WERK s.r.o.
VELOX-WERK s.r.o. is an Austrian company with decades of experience working in the construction sector. In 1956, the company started producing wood chip cement boards.
Today, people use the perfected VELOX Building System technology suitable for all the building methods. Currently, in Austria, 60 thousand families live in flats and houses built using VELOX building systems. Every year, this number increases by two thousand. With VELOX building system, you can build not only houses intended for living, but also public buildings, shopping centres, buildings used for administrative purposes, schools, sports complexes, hotels, buildings intended for industrial and agricultural purposes, and sound insulating barriers.
In 1955, the Austrians established a subsidiary company VELOX-WERK s.r.o. Hranice in the Czech Republic. A sales and construction network was established in this country. It offers complex services, which can meet every request of the client.
VELOX Building system has been developing successfully; therefore, VELOX board factories have been built not only in Austria, but in other countries in the world.
Currently, VX Baltic, the representative office of VELOX is successfully operating in Baltics and Scandinavia.
Over 60 years, a fair number of interesting objects were built using VELOX building system.
FEATURES OF VELOX BUILDING SYSTEM
In the recent years, the requirements regarding an ecological construction have increased. We want to live in a healthy environment, and our demands for quality living conditions are rising. The attention to the environmental requirements begins with the initial elements of VELOX wood chip cement boards. The production technology uses natural wood chips and cement. The production uses little energy, and the remaining waste is recycled, therefore, VELOX technology does not pollute the environment. VELOX Building System has high thermal insulation, which prevents thermal bridges; therefore, it is possible to save energy resources when using the building. This property ensures the ecology requirements. It also ensures that energy resources are used sparingly. The use of natural wood chips, and the entire ecological system ensure a healthy and peaceful life in built houses.
VELOX BUILDING SYSTEM
The main component of the universal VELOX construction system that ensures the complex construction from the foundation to the roof is VELOX boards. VELOX boards remain as a residual planking in the construction of the building. VELOX boards are not only the basis for VELOX construction system, but also due to its properties are widely used in the construction of internal partitions, outbuildings, buildings of light construction, reconstruction of various buildings, increase of the sound insulation of the buildings and premises, construction of the firewalls.
VELOX WOOD CHIP BOARDS
The processed conifer timber, i.e. strand, is the main raw material, which is used in the modern ecological manufacturing of VELOX wood chip cement boards and comprises 89% of the materials used in the board manufacturing. The next component is the cement, which ensures the strength and the liquid glass, which protects the board from humidity, mould and vermin. VELOX boards preserve the wood properties, and are very easy to process, they may be cut, drilled, joined with nails, drilled with cutters, and have the screws screwed in. The structure of the board surface perfectly grips with the plaster or concrete and at the same time has the high sound insulation properties.

The thermal insulation and accumulative properties ensure that the buildings made from VELOX products remain strong. High thermal resistance of the walls and the accumulative properties of the concrete maintain the necessary temperature in the rooms. In summer, the rooms are pleasantly cool, whereas in winter the rooms are warm.
The system possesses high levels of sound insulation and fire protection.
The chart displays the dependency between the outside wall internal surface average temperature and average room temperature, so that the feeling of warmth would be present.
As it can be seen from the ratio, the high temperature of the room does not provide the desired feeling of warmth if the temperature of the internal surface of the walls is low. VELOX construction system wall surface temperature is 20- 21 °C (depending on the area of the windows) that means that sustaining the
desired sense of warmth in the building, the temperature of the room must be about 20 °C. It is deemed that the sense of temperature comfort occurs when:
-temperature in the room is 18-24 °C
-temperature difference between external wall internal side and the temperature of the premises is lower than 3 °C.
